Active participation in art festivals and art walks throughout the valley, Swarna has shown her work in City of Chandler, Scottsdale, Tempe and Phoenix. With a vigor to bring the themes of events to life, she created backdrops and props for India Association festivals like Discover India 2010, 2011 and 2012. As the board member of the organization she has collectively worked with other board members to further the agenda of bringing art and culture of India to Phoenix soil.
She was a visual artist to the provide a rather colorful and engaging backdrops as well as live-painting projected as backdrops to a group of dancers bringing a captured moment of their presentation at Tempe Center for the arts, as part of Indradhanush 2015, IACC, Phoenix.
Her art work has been showcased at the Herberger Art Gallery, Phoenix. – Memories of October and November in 2017 and Tempe history museum in 2018 . She has been a featured artist in the Blue guitar magazine, Fall issue of 2017. Her artworks have been published in the Artist portfolio magazine, light space and time online gallery.
She was nominated for the Mayor’s arts award, Phoenix 2017. As Creative aging cohort 2018 of Arizona, she has been involved in bringing meaning, joy and fun to seniors at various center around the valley.
Collaborated with other artist to present Tides of India 2018, an exhibit and performance of Indian art forms. Painting were made to complement the dances that were presented at the show, in addition to the varied artforms of India that was elaborated upon during the lecture and Q&A session.
As an invited artist to Third Thursday program at Tempe History museum, Swarna presented her works and offered a workshop/demo on Indian art form, Warli.
She volunteers her time at charity organizations in India to bring joy to the less- fortunate through the process of creating.
